Consultation has concluded

The much anticipated Village of Pinehurst DRAFT Comprehensive Plan is complete!

The foundation of the DRAFT Comprehensive Plan is the input hundreds of residents and other key stakeholders provided during the Community Kick-Off event, the Visioning Workshops, and Planapalooza that were held last summer and fall. Along with this, a thorough analysis and understanding of the existing environment and resident expectations of the future were used by our consultants to formulate the plan. We invite you to provide your valuable input on the DRAFT Comprehensive Plan as it continues to be refined.

This draft plan includes five key Focus Areas identified for development and re-development:

  1. The Extra-Territorial Jurisdiction (ETJ)
  2. Highway 5 Commercial Area
  3. Medical District
  4. Village Place/Rattlesnake Trail Corridor
  5. Highway 211 Commercial Area

We are asking residents to identify their preferred scenarios for each of these five Focus Areas as we formulate our Conservation and Growth Map, or future land use map. We are also asking residents to provide feedback on the key recommendations included in the plan for how we can retain the character and authenticity of the Village, address growth and the impacts of growth on our infrastructure, ensure good neighborhood design and housing choices, improve mobility throughout the Village, protect our natural resources and open space, and ensure a healthy local economy. Finally, residents can also weigh-in on the Guiding Principles of the plan.

How can you tell us what you think about the DRAFT Comprehensive Plan? You can attend the Community Open House on June 17th or 18th or you can provide your input electronically below.

We will accept comments on this initial DRAFT Comprehensive Plan through July 10th. But don't worry... there will be public hearings in the fall where residents can provide additional input and feedback on the revised DRAFT Comprehensive Plan.
